Attending

Faculty members who attend convocation exercises are encouraged to sit on the platform rather than the general theatre seating. Faculty who choose to sit on the platform must wear academic dress.

Faculty members may also invite one guest. Invited platform party guests and faculty that choose not to sit on stage will use the general guest seating.

Convocation Shuttle for Faculty and Staff

The shuttle service for Spring 2024 Convocation is TBD.

Arrival

Please assemble no later than 8:00 a.m. for the morning ceremonies, and no later than 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon ceremonies.

Faculty sitting on stage are asked to assemble in the Faculty Room. Please follow the signs to the Faculty Room once in Merlis Belsher Place. From the Faculty Room, you will be escorted to the stage.

Please order tickets using the links below. Ceremony tickets for Spring 2024 will be open from April 15 at 12pm to May 21 at 11:59 pm. Tickets may be printed or can be shown at the door on a digital device.

Academic Dress

Faculty who choose to sit on the platform are required to wear regalia. First Nation, Metis and Inuit faculty are invited to wear their traditional regalia over academic regalia or in place of it. We ask that faculty do not alter rented academic regalia (gown or hood) as it represents your academic achievement. Online rental pre-ordering for Spring 2024 is open from April 15 at 12pm to May 12 at 11:59pm. If you do not pre-order a gown rental, you can rent one on site 1.5 hours prior to your ceremony. 

 

Be sure to obtain a gown and hood prior to the time of assembly. Gowns and hoods are available on a non-refundable rental basis. If you have questions please contact convocation@usask.ca

Academic dress must be returned at Merlis Belsher Place following the convocation ceremonies as they must be shipped back to the supplier.  

New PhD Gown
All faculty who currently own the original scarlet and blue gown are more than welcome to continue wearing this gown. If you choose to purchase a new gown, you may do so by using your APEF fund.
