Poll Everywhere: More Opportunities for Practice and Feedback even in Large Classes Tips for Instructors

It's a challenge to give students opportunities to practice and receive feedback regularly throughout the term, especially in large classes. Luckily, Poll Everywhere is an easy-to-use learning technology that allows you to quickly provide practice and feedback, gauge student learning, and reinforce students’ comprehension on-the-spot. This live polling tool is free to use for all instructors and students, features numerous question-response types, and can even be embedded as slides in PowerPoint! Join us for this 60-minute interactive session in which we will learn the basics of using Poll Everywhere, begin creating polls, and explore ways that you can use it to enhance the classroom experience to improve student learning

Learning/Guiding Questions: Which Sustainable Development Goals SDG(s) does your course address? Could you identify one or two specific goals and targets (indicators) your course helps work towards? Measuring teaching is important for both your continuous growth as an educator, but also to evidence your effectiveness - be that for tenure and promotion files or for teaching award nominations. This workshop focuses on gathering such evidence from students, faculty colleagues, and your own self-assessments, then using that evidence to plan for your continuous professional growth as an educator.

Canvas New Quizzes is full of functionality that we can leverage to make the most of assessments and exams in this increasingly digital environment.
