Teaching and Learning

Rachel Regier is an educational development specialist focused on helping educators weave themes of environmental, social, and economic sustainability through their teaching to develop student competencies.

She spent her childhood wading in creeks around Swift Current, exploring the ravines of the Qu’appelle valley, and swimming in the South Saskatchewan river, and happened to fall deeply in love with nature. She spent the first part of her professional career with Saskatoon Public Schools, teaching alternative sustainability programing for high school students.

Rachel has experience developing and delivering meaningful land-based, project-based, and experiential learning opportunities for students. In her masters work she investigated the role and efficacy of partnerships between schools and community organizations to engage students with real sustainability challenges.
