Julie holds an M.Ed. (Educational Technology & Design), as well as a B.Ed (Secondary Math and Science) and B.Sc (Biology with a Math minor). In 2017 she joined what was formerly the Distance Education Unit as an Instructional Designer, having previously worked in Adult Basic Education as a secondary math and science teacher, and as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and seminar instructor in the College of Education.
Julie works in the design and development of online, blended, and hybrid courses and programs, and has collaborated with educators in many different colleges to develop a variety of digital learning resources, including full online courses, e-learning modules, open textbooks and graduate handbooks, interactive learning objects, branching scenarios, online course and eportfolio templates, and much more. She is interested in stretching the limits of the LMS and our learning tech ecosystem, and in empowering educators and learners with flexible, intuitive, interactive, and socially-engaging online experiences.
