Xing X. Agent Liaison Coordinator

Xing is an education professional with 30 years of multifaceted experience.  She has acquired extensive knowledge and understanding of the impact of cross-cultural issues on education and has developed expertise in working with international students to overcome the many challenges of studying in a new environment.

Xing was born and raised in China where she started her career as a high school teacher. After graduating from a Master’s program in Applied Linguistics from Tsinghua University, she began teaching in China University of Petroleum in Beijing. Her role included teaching general English courses to graduate students, supervising English major graduate students and overseeing the second language teaching unit in the Department of Foreign Languages.

Xing moved to Canada in 2004. She received her Master of Education at the University of Saskatchewan. Her work at the University touches many areas including designing and delivering the Cultural Adaptation Program at the U of S Language Centre, contributing to the production of first language recruitment materials and Chinese social media channels, providing interpretation services to various university units, carrying out extensive recruitment activities and conducting activities as Agent Liaison Coordinator.

As Agent Liaison Coordinator, her role is to oversee the university’s centralized approach to developing and managing partnerships with a worldwide network of recruitment agencies. This includes agency selection and contracting, ongoing training and communication and performance review. This role overlaps and integrates with many aspects of her additional role as a recruitment officer.
