Teaching and Learning

Russell Isinger, BA, MA, joined the staff of the University Registrar's Office in the newly formed Student and Enrolment Services Division (SESD) in 2003, serving as a Coordinator and, after 2004, as a Manager and Assistant Registrar. In 2009, Russ joined the senior leadership team of SESD as the University Registrar. He continues to serve on the senior leadership team of SESD’s successor portfolio, Teaching, Learning, and Student Experience (TLSE), now as Associate Vice Provost and University Registrar. In this role, Russ is a member of university council, senate, and the general academic assembly, and has been actively involved in leadership and governance across the university. Russ also served as Interim Vice-Provost, TLSE, and University Registrar during 2022-23.

A graduate of the College of Arts and Science and the College of Graduate and Post-Doctoral Studies, University of Saskatchewan, Russ is also a professional affiliate with the Department of Political Studies, University of Saskatchewan. He has taught as a sessional lecturer with the department and with St. Thomas More College, and he continues to research and write in his area of academic interest, the Royal Canadian Air Force in the 1950s and its CF-105 Avro Arrow supersonic interceptor program. In 2020, Russ was the co-recipient of the Jennifer Welsh Scholarly Writing Award, awarded by the Saskatchewan Book Awards, as co-editor of the book Back to Blakeney: Revitalizing the Democratic State.
