Tanya Napper Director, Language Centre

Tanya has worked on campus since 2006 and joined the Language Centre in 2018. She is an alumna of the University of Saskatchewan, completing an honours degree in Political Studies.  She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education.

Growing up in Toronto, Tanya’s first career was as a dance instructor of ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre. Prior to coming to campus, Tanya travelled and worked in a few different provinces, gaining over 20 years of professional experience in various administrative fields.

Tanya was keen to join the Language Centre to bring not only professional experience but also an appreciation of the language-learning classroom experience, having started to learn French, Italian and Spanish herself.

At the Language Centre, Tanya leads the operations team responsible for application, registration and payments, and sits on several committees and working groups focused on supporting students in offering a positive student experience.

When not studying or working, Tanya spends as much time as possible with her family (both furry and not furry members) and loves to read, run and garden.
