Dr. Mohamed has joined USask in September 2022 as the Academic Manager at the University of Saskatchewan Language Center (USLC). Dr. Fatma holds a Doctor of Education (EdD, TESOL), and a Master of Education (MED, TESOL) in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. She has a postgraduate diploma in English Applied Linguistics, and a bachelor’s degree in English Language Education. Dr. Mohamed taught in the areas of language education, linguistics, TESOL, English for academic purposes, assessment, writing, and communication. Her research studies focus on teacher assessment literacy, assessment, feedback on writing, teacher professional development, teacher job satisfaction, teaching and learning modalities, methodology, curriculum design, and quality assurance in post-secondary education.
She taught in different international universities and was involved in instructional design and academic operations. Fatma was the team lead of the academic operation unit at the American University of the Middle East, where she led and managed different academic units: faculty development, examination & assessment, research & development, accreditation, and quality assurance. She wrote institutional policies related to assessment, faculty professional development, online learning, and education quality assurance. She also wrote institutional accreditation reports for accreditation boards.
Dr. Mohamed worked also as an online teaching quality manager for the British Council in Canada. She managed different online teaching accounts in North America, Venezuela, Mexico, and Colombia. She also worked at the Center for Teaching and Learning at MacEwan University as an educational developer, where she led different projects and faculty training programs focusing on delivering training programs for faculty from different disciplines on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), assessment, and Universal Design of Learning (UDL). She was involved with different colleges in curriculum review projects. She has also conducted research studies at MacEwan on Hybrid and HyFlex modalities and designed micro credential courses with related needs analysis plans.
